“Life in Canning” set to become a Wiki Time Capsule for your great grandkids.

Have you ever wanted to know what life was really like when your grandparents were kids? To see them going about their day to day existence? It’s a shame but that’s not possible for most of us. However, you can be a contributor, giving this opportunity to YOUR great-grandchildren.

On Saturday 12th November you will be able to join in a great community initiative and lodge your photos or videos onto Wikipedia as part of the “Life in Canning 2016 – a Living Time Capsule” This initiative is proudly promoted by local real estate agents Prowest Real Estate.

Prowest Principal, Paul Rayner said: “We have operated in this area for almost 30 years and seen lots of changes over that time. The staff are proud of the lifestyle we help families enjoy and thought it would be great to share today’s lifestyle with future generations.

”To do this Prowest will, along with Wikimedia, promote a competition where you can bring in your photos or videos of life in our city and the Wikimedia staff will assist in downloading it, scanning these to be included in “Life in Canning 2016”. It could be happy snaps of you and the family going about your daily life, school uniforms, footy clubs, community groups or businesses doing what they do every day. Just imagine what this will look like to your great grandkids in 50-60 years.”

To participate simply bring your photos or videos to Prowest Real Estate’s Office at 175 High Road (cnr Yampi Way) WILLETTON but to avoid the queues, book into one of the time-slots.
